On July 18th 2017, a delegation from the Ecuadorian Red Cross Society headed by Ms. Victoria Albán de Torres, President of the Ecuadorian Red Cross Society met with Prof. Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society in Tehran to see and explore possibilities of further cooperation between two Societies in common interested areas of engagement.
In his meeting with Ms. Albán de Torres, Prof. Ziaee said that the Iranian Red Crescent's medical Centre in Ecuador is engaged in providing haemodialysis services and all humanitarian activities of the Iranian Red Crescent Society in South America are well known with the activities of the Red Crescent medical centres in Ecuador and Bolivia.
Prof. Ziaee also stated that there are possibilities for organising short-term training courses in Iran on relief and rescue by the Iranian Red Crescent's Relief and Rescue Organisation for staff and rescuers of the Ecuadorian Red Cross. He also announced the readiness of the Iranian National Society for sending products of Iran Helal Textile Industries and SOHA Company based on teh request from the Red Cross of Ecuador.
Thanking Prof. Ziaee for hosting the Red Cross of Ecuador, Ms. Albán de Torres referred to her visit to Iran Helal Pharmaceutical Treatment Complex and said the activities of this Complex were very significant, and the Red Cross of Ecuador is requesting that, if possible, the Red Crescent Society of Iran set up such a centre in Quito, Ecuador.
The President of the Red Cross Society of Ecuador also pointed out to her visit to Iran Helal Textile Industries and said, "We visited the products produced by Iran Helal Textile Industries, which enjoy both good quality and reasonable prices. We are interested in further cooperation in this area".
Ms. Albán de Torres also stressed on her visit to the Red Crescent Medical Supplies Corporation (SOHA) and said, "The products of this company are very amazing for us, and we hope we can work together very well in this area."
She also noted that relief and rescue experience of the Iranian Red Crescent can be very useful to us and the Red Cross relief and rescue forces from Ecuador need to take the necessary courses and to update their relief and rescue techniques.
At the end, the President of the Red Cross Society of Ecuador emphasized, "The cooperation and relations between the Ecuadorian Red Cross and the Red Crescent Society of Iran are not intermittently and it will continue constantly, deeply and profoundly,"
