King Letsie III of Lesotho met with Prof. Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society in Tehran on August 5th, 2017. In the course of this meeting, two sides discussed on the development of cooperation with the Red Cross of Lesotho in the field of sending students to study at the Iran Helal Applied Sciences Higher Educational Institute, exporting Iranian medicine and honey textiles and various cooperation in promoting the health, treatment and rehabilitation in Lesotho.
Prof. Ziaee, describing the capabilities of the Iranian Red Crescent, said that the development of bilateral relations between the two National Societies of Iran and Lesotho was discussed with the President and Secretary General of the Red Cross of Lesotho in Tehran last week.
"We announced the readiness of the Iranian Red Crescent to help increase the capacity of the Lesotho Red Cross in the field of training. The Iranian Red Crescent is also ready to establish a health clinic in partnership with the Red Cross and the Ministry of Health in Lesotho in case of a final agreement," added Prof. Ziaee during this meeting.
King Letsie III of Lesotho expressed his keen interest in developing cooperation between the countries of Iran and Lesotho and stressed that he and his family are amongst the strong supporters of the Red Cross of Lesotho. He added that "We are ready to take advantage of the capacities of the Iranian Red Crescent" and mutual cooperation in the field of student deployment for studying at the Iran Helal Applied Sciences Higher Educational Institute, professional rescue and rescue trainings, export of medicines and medical supplies and textile products to Lesotho, as well as various cooperation by using Iranian Red Crescent knowledge and experience in the fields of health, treatment and rehabilitation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, the Deputy Minister and the Special Assistant to King Letsie III of Lesotho also attended at the meeting. The export of 81 medicines produced in the Red Crescent Medical Supplies Corporation (SOHA) was discussed in the meeting.
