KERMANSHAH, Apr. 1 (IRCS) _ The Red Crescent dispatched 16 assessment and relief teams to the location of today’s quake near Sare-Pule-Zahab, Kermanshah Province, western Iran. The quake left 59 injured.
A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck the area near Sare-Pule-Zahab county, 23 km away from Ghasreshirin and 32 km away from Gilan-e Gharb, western Kermanshah Province on Sunday April 1, 2018 at 13:05 pm local time. The earthquake happened at the depth of 8 kilometer of the ground.
Red Crescent dispatched 16 assessment and relief teams immediately to the location of the quake.
"The quake caused injuries to 59 people who have either received outpatient services by Red Crescent relief workers or were transferred to medical centers." Shahin Fathi, the deputy of operations at the Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization said.
Also, four Rapid Response Teams put on alert in Kermanshah Red Crescent branch.
A magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck Kermanshah in November 2017, killing at least 620 people and injuring more than 9,000 in numerous districts of the province.
