TEHRAN, May. 13 (IRCS) _ Majlis (the Iranian Parliament) speaker Ali Larijani visited spinal cord injury (SCI) patients of the Kermanshah earthquake at Noorafshar Hospital, operated by the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) in Tehran.
He also paid a visit to the hospital's facilities and equipment and wished hope for the betterment of the patients' conditions. The patients were affected by a November earthquake that shattered the province.
Larijani also opened 9 IRCS rehabilitation centers in the provinces of Zanjan, Gilan, Hamedan, Khuzestan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Qazvin, Mazandaran, Qom and Yazd through video conferencing.
He described IRCS as a totally populous institution which had fully carried out its responsibilities.
"That the society has over two million volunteers members indicates that people fully trust this body," the lawmaker said.
He also underlined IRCS's prompt responses to various incidents and disasters that took place in the country over the course of the previous Iranian calendar year which ended on March 20, saying, "Reaching out to the people affected by Kermanshah Earthquake is an example for IRCS's timely services."
Noorafshar Hospital, operated by IRCS and supported by the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, is the best of its kind in the region for offering rehabilitation, medical and sports services to patients.
