TEHRAN, May. 20 (IRCS) _ The President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) appointed Dr. Davoud Bagheri as Acting Under-Secretary General of International Affairs and International Humanitarian Law at the IRCS.
Dr. Ali Asghar Peyvandi's appointment letter reads as follows:
Considering the undeniable importance of activating international potentialities, various missions and vast duties of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), I expect you to exploit the views of experts and scholars of the field, and by exerting all your efforts, exploit all your capabilities and experiences to introduce the Society, promote its status in international arenas, establish positive interactions with the International Federation, National Societies and Organizations, promote and implement regulations and concepts of the humanitarian law on a national level and in the framework of the country’s current regulations, and develop specialized activities in international grounds with dignity.

A practicing physician, Dr. Bagheri previously served as head of the IRCS Presidential division. He is also fluent in English, French and Turkish. Some of his former posts include:

Secretary of the Medical Committee of the Weightlifting Confederation of Asia
