MASHHAD, Aug 25 (IRCS) _ Red Crescent search and rescue teams in mountain managed to save 18 climbers in the heights of Barf-riz village, Neyshabur, Iran’s northeastern province of Khorasan-e Razavi, into the wee small hours of Saturday, August 25.
At 23:00 p.m. local time on Friday, July 24, missing of an 18-member climbing team was reported by their families to emergency operations center (EOC) of Khorasan-e Razavi Red Crescent provincial branch.
"The climbers went missing due to darkness and fatigue,” said Hassan Godarzi, head of the EOC of Khorasan-e Razavi Red Crescent provincial branch.
Two teams of rescuers were dispatched to Barf-riz heights, and, were able to find the climbers after 2 hours of search, and transferred them to the foot of the mountain.
Barf-riz village is located 30 kilometers off Neyshabur. Barf-riz peak is placed in the heights of the village.
