YAZD, Nov. 3 (IRCS) _ Iran's Red Crescent opened a new road relief base in Meybod, central province of Yazd.
The base has been built with the participation of one of the region’s benefactors. Head of the Relief and Rescue Organization of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Morteza Salimi attended the launching ceremony of the base which is located in the bypass of Meybod-Yazd.
Referring to the beginning of IRCS winter relief campaign by early December, Salimi said: “The objectives of the campaign include shortening the time of arrival at in disaster scenes, speeding up the relief in various disasters, and minimizing injuries in road accidents.”
IRCS has got over 500 relief bases throughout the country and 60,000 relief workers and rescuers.
