TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (IRCS) _ Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have been holding a joint communication workshop in Tehran for IRCS Public Relation divisions’ directors and staff, entitled as “Humanitarian Communication in Crises and Disasters.”
During the 3-day workshop, November 18-20, topics including “communicating as members of the RCRC”, “communication in times of emergencies”, “public communication”, “IRCS digital communication”, “ICRC digital communication”, etc. will be covered.
“We should use mass media as much as possible in order to operate better in the field of reporting and advancement of humanitarian objectives in the field of communications,” said Navid Karimzade, deputy of IRCS International Communications and Protocols Department. “Attracting more volunteers to humanitarian activities is also sought in such programs.”
Moreover, Mohammad Reza Hashemi Taba, head of the communications and media office of ICRC delegation to Tehran, said one of the goals of holding such workshops was bolstering the general status and identity of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
