Dr. Ziaee met with Dr. Pierre Willa, Director of the International Affairs Office of the University of Geneva, Prof. Dr. Silvia Naef, Head of Middle East Studies and Global Studies and Dr. Alexandre Babak Hedjazi, Executive Deputy Director of International Affairs at the International Affairs Office at the University of Geneva and Senior Lecturer at UNIGE's Institute for Environmental Sciences at the Headquarters of the Iranian Red Crescent in Tehran.
"Three thousand students are studying at Iran Helal Applied Sciences Higher Educational Institute across the country," Dr. Ziaee said. "In addition to the study of students at different levels of education, the Institute provides public education to the general public as well as on-the-job training courses for the staff of the Iranian Red Crescent Society,"
Dr. Ziaee referred to Red Crescent long term plan for 10 years and the five year implementing programme of the Iranian Red Crescent Society and said that last year, a training workshop was held for Red Crescent managers focusing on good scientific concepts which was welcomed by participants.
"We are proud of having cooperation with the Red Crescent Society of Iran," Dr. Pierre Willa also said, "Extensive researches in the field of dealing with disasters and crises have been done by the University of Geneva, which it's results can be shared with the Iran's Red Crescent Society,"
He also stated that July of this year can be the best opportunity for organizing the workshop on "Responding to Disasters" for employees and managers of Iran's Red Crescent Society.
At the end of the meeting, University of Geneva announced its readiness for exchanging students and information on disaster prevention between Iran and Switzerland.
