Prof. Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee, President of the Iranian Red Crescent met and held talks with his counterpart, Mr. Yaya Mahavat Liguita, President of Red Cross of Chad, at the Iranian Red Crescent Tehran based Headquarters on Monday 10 July 2017.
At the meeting, both Presidents emphasized on the necessity of developing cooperation between the two National Societies, especially in the areas of healthcare, prevention of contagious diseases and training of specialists and personnel in the field of disaster preparedness.
"Iranian Red Crescent, enjoying 95 years of experiences, is carrying out its national and international missions based on the needs in dealing with disasters and incidents and helps other national societies in this regard. Due to majorities of disasters that Iran faces every year, the Iranian Red Crescent has gained valuable experience in the area of responding to accidents and disasters and is ready to share and work with other National Societies in this area," said Prof. Ziaee in this meeting.
Mr. Yaya Mahavat Liguita also expressed his thanks for the humanitarian efforts of the Iranian Red Crescent and said that the Red Cross of Chad is seeking cooperation with the Iranian Red Crescent in the fields of preventing the spread of contagious diseases, providing trainings in disaster preparedness and professional and specialized human resources. Prof. Ziaee mentioned that IRCS is ready to singe an MOU with Chad Red Cross Society through with we can enhance the cooperation between two national societies and help the Chad NS in capacity building.
Mr. Yaya Mahavat Liguita also had a separate meeting with Mr. Mostafa Mohamadioun, the Secretary General of the Iranian Red Crescent Society in his office, furthermore MR. Yaya had visited the activities and capacities of different division of IRCS in Tehran and Isfahan.
