3.5 million Benefit from Red Crescent Health Enforcers Campaign
TEHRAN, 25 November 2020 (IRCS) – 3.5 million people have benefited from Health Enforcers Campaign implemented by the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) youth and volunteers with the aims of promoting health protocols over Covid-19 pandemic.
During the campaign implemented on 26 October to 5 November, 13,000 young members of the Iranian Red Crescent distributed brochures, face masks and hand disinfectants among the people in 4,200 Red Crescent posts in 381 counties based on the needs of the provinces.
According to the IRCS Youth Organization, 3.5 million people benefited from the services provided by the campaign.
“This figure refers to the people who have been given health items or have been directly advised by health enforcers. But the number of people who have participated in the public programs of the Red Crescent cannot be counted,” said Dr Mohammad Golfeshan.
In the national Health Enforcers Campaign, the volunteers also transferred methods to prevent the coronavirus through street theater. Red Crescent youth donated gifts to the children with masks and provided information through taxis and public transportation. They also attended nursing homes and rendered health advices to elderly people.
Since Covid-19 emerged in the country, Iranian Red Crescent has mobilized 73,000 volunteers to response to the pandemic.
