IRCS Ready to Help Afghanistan

TEHRAN (IRCS) - The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) is ready to dispatch its relief teams to Afghanistan to support the Afghan Red Crescent in responding to a deadly earthquake that has left hundreds of deaths.

According to Dr. Pir Hossein Kolivand, the President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), the Society’s search and rescue teams, relief workers, volunteers as well as treatment teams are fully prepared to be dispatched to Afghanistan if needed.

At least 950 people have been killed and more than 620 others injured after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit remote parts of southeastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, June 22.
