IRCS Ready to fight winter disasters
TEHRAN, 28 November 2021 (IRCS) – 12,000 rescuers and aid workers of the Iranian Red Crescent Society have been participating in the Society’s operations to respond to severe disasters in winter.
All forces have been rendering relief services to the people in roads since November 22. The plan will continue through 16 March 2022.
Iranian Red Crescent also uses 20 relief helicopters to respond to disasters in areas where services are not possible through ground, according to Mehdi Valipour, Head of the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization.
Moreover, 3,400 relief vehicles are to be used in IRCS’ winter campaign.
Iranian Red Crescent has 567 fixed relief posts across the country that serve the affected people around the clock. In addition to these posts, 611 makeshift posts have been set up to render relief and rescue services to people in winter.
