IRCS Ready to send relief items to Pakistan
TEHRAN, 7 October 2021 (IRCS) – Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) declared its readiness to send relief items and rapid response teams to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) after a 5.9-magnitude earthquake killed dozens and injured hundreds in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan Province on Thursday, October 7.
The message of Dr Karim Hemmati, IRCS President, to Mr Abrar-ul Haq, PRCS Chairman, reads as follows:
Dear Mr Abrar-ul Haq,
Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent
I received with great regret the terrible news of a powerful earthquake struck the southern parts of Pakistan, resulting in tragic loss of lives and injuries as well as in residential damages.
May I take this occasion, on behalf of the Iranian Red Crescent Society staff and volunteers, to commiserate with the families who lost their dear ones and to offer our deepest condolences and most sincere sympathy, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
I would like to express our readiness to dispatch rapid response teams and relief items according to the needs on the ground in coordination with Pakistan Red Crescent Society to reduce the effects of this disaster.
