IRCS marks International Volunteer Day
TEHRAN, 05 December 2021 (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent Society held a ceremony in Tehran to honor International Volunteer Day 2021.
At the ceremony, Dr Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent, said that without the cooperation of volunteers and youths, we cannot achieve much success.
“We are always indebted to the volunteers, and in the Kermanshah earthquake, Golestan and Khuzestan floods, we also saw how the volunteers did their best to help the people,” added IRCS President.
Mr Kolivand also praised efforts of the IRCS’ volunteers in combating Covid-19.
A number of volunteers and benefactors of the Iranian Red Crescent were also honored in the ceremony.
Through formation of a human chain in Azadi Stadium in Tehran and several other cities, statement of the International Volunteer Day was read by the IRCS volunteers.
Referring to this year’s motto of International Volunteer Day, "We are unstoppable together," IRCS volunteers stressed unexpected, humanitarian and philanthropic activities for helping the deprived people.
