Red Crescent Ready to Serve Arbaeen Walkers
TEHRAN (IRCS) – The Iranian Red Crescent is to boost its relief facilities to serve Imam Hossein (PBUH) pilgrims in the Arbaeen march.
Speaking at the Iranian Red Crescent Society’s board of directors meeting on Sunday, Dr Pir Hossein Kolivand, the IRCS President, said: “The Red Crescent is on alert to serve people on the Arbaeen pilgrimage,”
“The Red Crescent will standby along the Arbaeen marchers in the eastern and western borders to render relief and medical services to pilgrims,” he added.
Every year, the Iranian Red Crescent deploys its relief workers to both Iran and Iraq to offer services to people who travel to Iraq for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
The Arbaeen pilgrimage is a Shia Muslim religious observance that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura.
