The consignment arrived in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini international airport late on Friday, 26 April, includes 2,600 tents and will be sent to the affected provinces by the flood.

Since 16 March, almost all 31 provinces in Iran have been hit by flooding, which has damaged houses and infrastructures, affecting over 10,000,000 people. 78 people are reported dead, 1,136 injured and 2 million are in need of support.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has launched an international emergency appeal seeking 5.1 million Swiss francs to expand Red Crescent support to an additional 30,000 families (equivalent to about 150,000 people).
