TEHRAN, Apr. 30 (IRCS) _ A group of foreign girl students in the Iranian capital donned the uniform of the student clubs of the Iranian Red Crescent Society to join IRCS as volunteers.

The students study at Tehran International and Adaptive School which has students from 5 continents and 20 countries with different languages, races and religions. The students joined the IRCS in a ceremony at the state-run school.

The spokesperson of the students, a Korean student, read a statement by her classmates in the ceremony.

"We may be unable to do anything to prevent wars in the world, but, by joining Red Crescent, we can say how much the values of this international institution are important to us. We may leave Iran next year or the year after, but wherever we are, we will always remain a volunteer member of the Red Crescent and Red Cross," read the statement.

Addressing the ceremony, Saeed Babaei, the deputy of school students at Iranian Red Crescent Youth Organization, welcomed joining of the students to Red Crescent, saying, "The Red Crescent is a non-governmental and, of course, international institution. Today's event shows that there are no borders in humanity and assistance to mankind as nationalities, ethnicities, races, and religions. In the Red Crescent Youth Organization, student activities are being pursued with earnestness, and school student clubs are an opportunity for this group of the human community to engage in humanitarian activities so that they are ready for such activities in the future."

Also, as suggested by the school's principal, it was decided that a Red Crescent trainer offer relief training to students in the school.
