IRCS Opens New Relief Bases

TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (IRCS) _ Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) launched several relief facilities around the country in the last week of August which coincides with the Government Week in Iran.

 

TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (IRCS) _ Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) launched several relief facilities around the country in the last week of August which coincides with the Government Week in Iran.

Red Crescent opened a road relief base and a mountain relief base in the southwestern province of Khuzestan on Sunday, August 26.

The road relief base is located in Gotvand County, and covers an area of 10,000 square meters. The mountain relief base is located in Shehyun district, Dezful County.  

In the central province of Isfahan, Emergency Operations Center of the Red Crescent provincial branch was launched on Tuesday, August 28.

IRCS Secretary General Mahmoud Mohammadi Nasab participated in the opening ceremony.

IRCS also opened 2 road relief bases in the southwestern province of Fars.

On Sunday, August 26, a road relief base was opened in Sepidan County. The base has an area of 1,000 square meters. 

The land of this relief base was offered by Mr. Jan Babab Afifi, one of the county’s benefactors who was also engaged in building the base.

Moreover, a relief road base was opened in Kharameh County, in 2,200 square meters of land on Tuesday, August 28.

The family of late Jafar Yousefi, a benefactor of the county, granted a cash donation to the project.

In the eastern provinces of North Khorasan and South Khorasan, Red Crescent opened two relief warehouses in 1,175 and 432 meters of land, respectively, to keep relief items such as food packages, tents, blankets, etc.

Iranian Red Crescent enjoys 560 road, sea and mountain relief bases across the country.
