The full text of the IRCS President’s message on the Youth Day reads as follows:
“Youth is one of the most important stages in the life of every human being; a stage at which human beings, without the conventional conservatism of mid ages, express their ideas and views and, by utilizing the power of their talents, genius and creativity, open up new paths for the promotion of humanity.
Hearing the thoughts, views and opinions of the youths is one of the most crucial points to consider in every community and institution that tries not to get stock in the past and move towards a brighter future. Fortunately, the Red Crescent, with its special strategies in its 10-year strategy and a range of activities in its 5-year plan, such as the setting-up of youth assemblies and entrusting handling of a part of the activities to them, has started to follow suit of many national societies in the world.
If the transfer of responsibilities to the youth is well done, it will surely be possible to attract and train children, adolescents and other young people with the help of these young volunteered managers alongside experts and leaders of youth affairs throughout the country.
Where certain organizations have failed to fulfill their duties, Red Crescent youths have displayed splendor in recent years and have always been striving to promote peace, public-benefit and humanitarian causes.
Providing relief services and psychological support after the earthquake in Kermanshah Province, helping the flood victims in western provinces, assisting the victims of disasters, learning and teaching the skills for preventing social harms, etc. are among the activities that the youth of the Red Crescent has been pursuing to become an honor of the beloved Islamic Iran and the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
I, hereby, congratulate the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Ali Akbar (the son Imam Hossein, the third Shia Imam) and the "day of Youth" to all the Iranian youths, particularly the "human-loving Red Crescent Youths". I pray to God for their success, dignity and honor.”
