IRCS deploys Caravan to Tehran outskirts in Red Crescent Week

TEHRAN, May 06 (IRCS) _ Red Crescent Health caravans are dispatched to the deprived regions of Tehran province during the Red Crescent Week (May 5-11) in order to render health services to the people in need.

 

TEHRAN, May 06 (IRCS) _ Red Crescent Health caravans are dispatched to the deprived regions of Tehran province during the Red Crescent Week (May 5-11) in order to render health services to the people in need.

The caravans comprise volunteer physicians, internists, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, orthopedists, dentists and nurses who are sent to several deprived and remote villages of the city such as Shahryar, Islamshahr, Varamin and Robaat Karim.

Also, in order to provide dental services to villagers, arrangements have been made to provide portable dental units (dental equipment) in the areas.

“IRCS has planned to set up tents for health activities at Tehran International Book Fair, establish 5 health stations in Friday Prayer ceremonies in the capital city of Tehran and other provinces, carry out Niyabat Campaign (meeting the elderly), receive blood donations,” said Habib Dargahi, acting head of the IRCS Volunteers organization.

Also, on the occasion of the Red Crescent Week, all IRCS branches across the country are ready to register new volunteers to participate in Red Crescent voluntary humanitarian services.

Considering that ongoing Tehran International Book Fair coincides with Red Crescent week in Iran, the IRCS Volunteers Organization is calling to recruit volunteer member at the fair. Those who are interested to join the Red Crescent voluntary activities can call at the society’s booth at the fair.
