TEHRAN, Apr. 14 (IRCS) _ Red Crescent opened a mountain relief base in Kolakchal, one of the northern Tehran heights.
This is the fourth mountain relief base opened in the central province of Tehran by the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), which runs 557 relief bases across the country.
In a ceremony held on April 13 to open Kolakchal relief base, Prof. Ali Asghar Peyvandi, IRCS President, said: “We are honored to provide services to more than 20 millions Tehrani citizens, which has been made possible by the qualities IRCS relief workers.”
Previoulsy, Tehran Red Crescent branch had mountain relief bases in Darband, Shirpala and Quchak heights.
Red Crescent provincial branch in Tehran carried out 67 operations in its relief bases in mountainous areas last calendar year which ended on March 20.
Every week, over half a million nature lovers go hiking in Tehran province’s heights.
