TEHRAN, July 11 (IRCS) _ Iran Hilal Textile Industries, affiliated to the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), has manufactured the world’s largest, multipurpose relief tent, known as Rubb Hall, to be used in emergency situations.
The tent, made of poly vinyl chloride (PVC), is 240 square meters, 5.5 meters high, and weighs 2.5 tons. Its powerful structure makes it resistant against storms and heavy rains.
It can also be used in any kind of natural and man-made disasters, setting up relief warehouses, emergency and temporary sheltering, as well as Rapid Field Hospital (RH).
“The tent's design and spacious interior as well as easy setup instruction are the most important points for this strategic item during disasters and rendering relief services,” Zaher Rostami, managing director of Iran Hilal Textile Industries, told to IRNA.
The tent is very easy to set up and needs no foundation to be erected; it can also be recovered at the end of relief operation according to the instructions and can be placed in four wooden boxes.
The huge tent can be used as a Rapid Field Hospital with wards such as triage, surgery, ICU, etc. by a set of minor modification.
