Red Crescent has provided food parcels for various regions of the country affected by disasters in the current Iranian calendar year

Mohammad Nasiri, Head of the IRCS Volunteers Organisation, said: “At the time of crises, the first body to reach the victims is the National Society. We don’t limit our supports only to disaster times, but we are also prepared to offer support after the crises. Affected communities need more support when they want to return to their former state.”

Red Crescent has provided food parcels for various regions of the country affected by such disasters as earthquake, flood, drought, etc. in the current Iranian calendar year, which began on 21 March 2018.

The parcels include rice, beans, canned food, macaroni, tea, etc. The Red Crescent plans to complete the distribution before the end of the calendar year (20 March 2019).

The supplies are being distributed in the nine provinces of Tehran, South Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Kerman, Isfahan, Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Ilam and Kohgiluyeh and Buyerahmad.

After major disasters, Red Crescent provides relief booklets to the affected people and gradually distributes relief items and food parcels among the affected people in accordance with the booklets.

This year, National Society carried out a special work and initiated Water Offering in Sistan and Baluchestan that provided water and food supplies for the drought-affected regions of the province to improve living conditions of the inhabitants.
