Arbaeen is a Shia religious observation that occurs 40 days after the Day of Ashura, commemorating martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), the third Shia Imam.
“Three health posts have been organized in Khosravi border which opened recently,” added Peyravi.
Furthermore, eight ambulance buses along with 64 physicians, nurses and relief workers and 42 ambulances with 84 rescuers and drives will serve Imam Hossein pilgrims in Karbala, Hillah, Najaf and Kadhimiya.
To serve Arbaeen walkers, the Iranian Red Crescent will dispatch 2,500 people, including specialized physicians, doctors, female nurses, pharmaceutical technicians, health experts, relief workers, Arabic translators, informatics experts, EMS technicians, etc.
Moreover, IRCS Relief and Rescue Organisation will set up four temporary relief posts for pilgrims in Mehran, Shalamcheh, Chazabeh and Khosravi borders, deploying operational vehicles and ambulances as well as relief helicopters in border posts.
So far, 800,000 Iranians have signed up for taking part in this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage. Three million Iranian pilgrims are expected to attend the ceremony in Karbala this year.
