IRCS Youth Organization Turns 72

Youth Organization of the Iranian Red Crescent Society was founded in 1947. On its 72nd anniversary, the Organisation’s theme is “We will remain kind.”

Currently, 238,473 young people have been deployed in 3,020 clubs of the IRCS Youth Organisation, including university students, seminary students, youths, villagers and clubs. IRCS Youth Organisation’s clubs are non-political and non-governmental groups.

The young members of the Iranian Red Crescent promote humanity, respect to human beings, health, peace and human dignity.

IRCS Youth Organisation activities are in line with the Society’s Five-Year Plan and its objectives, including attempting to alleviate human sufferings, respecting human beings, striving to establish friendship and mutual understanding and ensuring sustainable peace among the nations, supporting life and health of human beings without any discrimination, as well as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)’s Youth Engagement Strategy (YES).

The clubs of the IRCS Youth Organisation provide a friendly atmosphere for young people to apply their ideas, experience group work, social communications, participation and management. Besides, these clubs play an important role in solving student, rural, and other groups’ problems through humanitarian standpoint and voluntary work.

The IRCS Youth Organisation has established 1,189 clubs in universities and educational centres, 257 clubs in seminaries, 761 clubs in villages, 831 clubs in the Red Crescent branches, humanitarian clubs in the country’s correction and rehabilitation centers to offer relief and first aid courses, cultural activities, etc.

IRCS humanitarian clubs have also won several awards in recent years in Iran and abroad for humanitarian schemes.
