One of the fundamental components of the Iranian Red Crescent Society's humanitarian services is voluntary human resource
Voluntary human resource is one of the fundamental components of humanitarian services in the Iranian Red Crescent (IRCS); the volunteers who usually swing into actions during most emergencies in the country. In line with recruiting, retention and organizing such volunteer relief and rescue workers and enhancing their interactive partnership with the NS, the establishment of a club through the entire IRCS branches recommended. The club is considered as a key step to reach the NSÔÇÖs objectives. To do so, the draft guidelines compiled and edited twice in cooperation with 13 experts from four provinces of Tehran, South Khorasan, Golestan and Kerman under the Head of Relief & Rescue Organization direction in June 2012. The elections and establishment hold on three categories of branches, provincial and national levels. On branch level, there are two separate clubs for men and women; each has five members and two substitution persons. The club secretary will act as the advisor to the Head of IRCS town branch on volunteer relief workersÔÇÖ affairs. There are a number of 4,689 members in 352 IRCS branches. On provincial level, the town club members elect the provincial members; consisting of five members (three male, two female) and two substitution persons (one female, one male). The club secretary acts as the advisor to the Head of IRCS provincial branch on volunteer relief workersÔÇÖ affairs. There are a number of 217 members in 31 IRCS provincial branches. On national level, the provincial club members elect the national members; consisting of five members (three male, two female) and two substitution persons (one female, one male). The club secretary acts as the advisor to the Head of IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization on volunteer relief workersÔÇÖ affairs.
