Patrick Hamilton, Deputy Regional Director for Near and Middle East of ICRC and his colleague Ms Helga Thorolfsdottir, Cooperation Delegate of ICRC Tehran Office, paid a visit to the Relief and Rescue Organisation and Health, Treatment and Rehabilitation Division, on May 2016.

In their meeting with the senior directors, they were impressed by the capacities of Iranian Red Crescent Society in rendering humanitarian services and aid to the affected community, especially in Middle East region. Referring to the common concerns of the both organisation in the region, Hamilton hopes that the areas of collaboration would be extended concerning the existing crisis in Syria, Yemen and Iraq, particularly in rehabilitation fields. He added that his ICRC colleagues in Iraq acknowledged the humanitarian support of the IRCS.
IRCS senior directors referring to the capacities and experience of the organizations announced the readiness to collaborate on the common interests in the region for the benefit of the affected and needy communities.
