Dr. Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee, President of the Iranian Red Crescent met with Dr. Yaseen Ahmad Abbas, President of the Iraqi Red Crescent in Tehran on 12 September 2015.   Expressing his appreciation for the full cooperation from the Iranian Red Crescent Society, Dr. Yaseen Ahmad Abbas said, “I am very happy and delighted to see an opportunity has been provided for the visit of two Presidents of the National Societies of Iraq and Iran,”   He stressed that the joint cooperation in various fields with the Iranian Red Crescent Society is very important for the Iraqi Red Crescent. He also said that “Our cooperation should not only be limited in crisis and disasters, but also joint cooperation in the fields of harm reductions and volunteers trainings must also be taken into consideration between the two National Societies,”. Dr. Yaseen Ahmad Abbas also added that the Iranian Red Crescent has rendered wide range of humanitarian services to the people of Iraq which we really appreciate the Iranian Red Crescent for this,”

Pointing out to the continuous process of the Iranian Red Crescent medical services for the Iraqi patients who come to get the services inside Iran, He also said the assistance to treat the Iraqi people in medical centers in Iran is very valuable which it continues.   He stressed that volunteers and youth members of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society are in need of trainings and called for joint visits in the field of trainings for volunteers and youth of the Iraqi Red Crescent and said “Training camps can be set up for this purposes,”
