The fourth Forum Election scheduled for 13 May 2016, more than 248,000 volunteers are eligible to vote for 4,395 candidates in 375 branches whom were chosen through a call for candidacy announced for duration of one week. Governors, members of Parliament, members of City Council, academics, donors, volunteers and NS retiree are among the candidates. For the first time, in the fourth election, regarding notification was sent to provincial branches, the active members and volunteers have the opportunity to go to the polls while putting on their uniforms. The election will be run in 375 branches in which the electors vote for seven candidates for each branch – four main candidates, two subbing and one observer.

The forum of Iranian Red Crescent Society consists of Provincial Councils, General Assembly and Supreme Council. The election is held every four years as adopted in articles six and seven of IRCS statute. According to those articles, every person can become a member without any political, religious or racial discrimination.

The election will contribute to reviewing the capacities of relief workers, volunteers and youth. The achievement of the fourth election is the registration of personal information of the members, volunteers and rescuers on the election portal that will update the personal data of the members.
