IRCS Finds Body of Dead Person in Gilan Flood
RASHT, Jun. 20 (IRCS) _ The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) volunteers found the body of one of the missing people in a flooding that hit the northern province of Gilan last week.
RASHT, Jun. 20 (IRCS) _ The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) volunteers found the body of one of the missing people in a flooding that hit the northern province of Gilan last week.
The body belongs to a young lady, under huge accumulation of mud below a bridge, and was found by Red Crescent relief workers, using an excavator.
Over the past few days, Gilan provincial Red Crescent branch was deployed to search the missing people in flood and a landslide disaster in Eshkevarat region, Roudsar County, especially in Kakroud village.
Red Crescent workers transported 3 injured and 9 children by a relief chopper from Kalayeh village to a safe place because of the risk of landslide.
Also, 5 households, whose houses were destroyed in Kakroud village, were sheltered by Red Crescent.
On Friday, June 15, a severe shower hit Eshkevarat region, eastern county of Roudsar, Gilan, for 20 minutes. The incident caused flood and several hundred of meters of landslide in the detour of Rahim Abad to Lashkan village and the rural artery to Kakroud.
The death of 3 people (2 women and a child) was confirmed at the earliest hours of the flood and Red Crescent operations have been on the go to find the missing people.
Mahdi Valipour, managing director of Gilan provincial Red Crescent branch, said food and essential supplies were distributed among the flood-affected people.

Gilan provincial Red Crescent branch has so far distributed such relief items to the people in the flood-hit villages as lantern, blanket, mineral water, loaves, tea packages, biscuit, date, flour, rice, canned fish, kitchen sets and relief tents among the flood-affected people.
