Iranian, Turkish Red Crescent Societies to sign MOU

Cairo (IRCS) - On the sideline of MENA Humanitarian Leadership Conference in Cairo, ‎Egypt, the presidents of the Iranian and Turkish Red Crescent Societies talked about signing an ‎MOU.‎

Dr Pir Hossein Kolivand, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society said ‎that the document would be focused on such fields as relief, medical, treatment, young ‎members and volunteers as well as dispatching relief teams to the regional ‎countries such as Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria. ‎

During the meeting, the IRCS president suggested that regarding the common culture between Iran and Turkey, the two societies do joint activities such as dispatching medical teams responding to disasters in other countries.

He also invited the Turkish Red Crescent to participate in building a training town in Iran by the Red Crescent.

As agreed by the parties, the MOU will be signed between the two Societies in the next Iranian calendar year when Dr Kerem Kinik, President of the Turkish Red Crescent, travels to Iran to attend the ceremonies for the 100th anniversary of the Iranian Red Crescent establishment.
