Iranian Red Crescent Society appreciates and Supports researches on promotion of human life and peace

Mustafa Science and Technology prize laureates, Professor Jackie Y. Ying from Singapore and Professor Omar Yaghi from Jordan were highly welcomed by the meeting which was hosted by the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) on the occasion of the 21th anniversary commemoration of Bam earthquake on Saturday 12 December. In the course of the meeting, the prize laureates delivered lectures on their researches. Professor Jackie Y. Ying spoke about 21 identified grand challenges for the 12st century in engineering to impact sustainability, health, vulnerability, and joy of living.
Professor Omar Yaghi, spoke about his research in the field of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) in the category of nanoscience and nanotechnology. It’s worth noting that, these MOFs have a wide range of applications in clean energy technologies, carbon dioxide capturing and hydrogen and methane storage systems due to their extremely high surface areas. Both laureates were appreciated and supported by the IRCS for their researches regarded as the significant steps forward in promotion of peace and tranquility for humanity.
The Mustafa Prize is a top science and technology award granted to the top researchers and scientists of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states biennially. It is highly supervised by high-profile universities and academic centers of the states and awarded in four categories, namely life sciences and medical sciences, Nano science and Nanotechnologies, information and communication science and technologies, and top scientific achievements in other fields. Iran Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution has approved Mustafa Prize as a top technology prize of the country to be given to those researchers whose works encourage promotion of welfare, security, and health for people.
Iranian Red Crescent Society supports those national and international researches which selected by the creditable academic festivals seeking to promote peace and tranquility for humanity. It intends to support panels encouraging education and research in light of her statutory goals and guided by the humanitarian principles and values.
In the course of the meeting, the IRCS took the opportunity to address and greatly appreciate the kind and in-kind donations of the donors (khayerin and vafeghan) whose participation were highly welcomed in supporting and promoting research plans and projects aiming at development of health, peace, and tranquility. Iranian Red Crescent society has always been actively welcoming and appreciating the dedicated humanitarian endeavors of scientists and researchers who have given themselves and their lives to the service and betterment of mankind humanitarianly.
