Iranian Red Crescent aid plane lands in Djibouti
An Iranian plane carrying Red Crescent humanitarian relief aid for Yemen landed in Djibouti on Friday, 29 May 2015. The 20 ton cargo was delivered to the WFP (World Food Programme), to be forwarded to Yemen in a support to the Yemeni Red Crescent's humanitarian operations including the distribution of relief items among Yemeni people.
Emphasising on the dispatch of the second ship of humanitarian supplies of the Iranian Red Crescent for helping the needy people in Yemen, Dr. Nasser Charkhsaz, Head of Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organisation explained, "food and non food items and medicine and medical supplies of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran are loading on a ship in Bandar Imam Khomeini's port which will be sent to Yemen as soon as its loading ends".
An Iranian Red Crescent aid ship carrying 2500 tons of food and non food items as well as medicine and medical equipments with the value of 4,555,869 USD docked in Djibouti last week and delivered the humanitarian aids of the Iranian people to WFP for further coordination and distribution amongst the Yemenis in need.
