The great exercise on relief and rescue and emergency healthcare was held by the Iranian Red Crescent and other governmental organizations in Tehran on 12 May 2016.
The great exercise on relief and rescue and emergency healthcare was held by the Iranian Red Crescent and other governmental organizations in Tehran on 12 May 2016.
The exercise, which was civilian led but also involved relevant governmental organizations and departments active in the fields of disaster management and medical services, featured a hypothetical powerful disaster to test the readiness of operational forces; it included a fire fighting exercise of an explosion, followed by a search, rescue and emergency healthcare demonstration by the Iranian emergency organization as well as Tehran's provincial branch of the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
About 80 rescuers and Red Crescent volunteers together with sniffing dogs from Tehran Red Crescent branch attended in the exercise to do their search and rescue operation immediately as planned. Such an exercise enables Red Crescent operational forces to display their capabilities with specialized relief and rescue equipments in real operations.
