Isfahan and Florence: Sister branches

The Iranian Red Crescent provincial branch of Isfahan has a sister in the Italian Red Cross from now on. This sister branch is Florence Red Cross which is a historic branch of the Italian Red Cross in the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and of the province of Florence.

Florence branch is the first sister branch of Isfahan, twinned on June 5th, 2014 with the motive to strengthen the existing relationship between National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies of Iran and Italy. They became sisters with an attempt of signing an agreement between two branches of Isfahan and Florence during an official visit of Dr. Mohamamd Farhadi, President of the Iranian Red Crescent to the Italian Red Cross in June 2014.

Dr. Mohsen Momeni, Managing Director of Isfahan Red Crescent branch and Mr. Federico Rosar, Head of Italian Red Cross' Florence branch signed this agreement in Florence on June 5th, 2014. The agreement enjoys 2 years of validity and aimed at promoting mutual cooperation and exchanging experience and knowledge sharing in various fields between both National Societies.

Furthermore, Dr. Farhadi met with his partner, Dr. Francesco Rocca, at the Italian Red Cross headquarters in Rome on the first week of June 2014 and talked about the expansion of further cooperation and relationships between the two National Societies as well as about the follow-up efforts on the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding between the Iranian Red Crescent and the Italian Red Cross signed in November 2013 in Sydney, Australia.
