The Relief Consignment of the Iranian Red Crescent Society is on the way in favor of the Flood Affected People in Afghanistan

Following the occurrence of recent floods on 6 August 2013 in Northern area of Afghanistan, the Iranian Red Crescent Society dispatched a relief consignment for the benefit of the flood affected people through the Eastern border of Dogharoun based on the cooperation agreement between two Sister National Societies.

This consignment, which will be distributed to the vulnerable affected people by the Afghan Red Crescent Society, including the relief items such as tents (400 units), blankets (500 PCS) as well as Aluminum kitchen set (300 sets). The total weights of this relief consignment are 19,150 Kg and the value is about of USD 80,400.

The Herat branch of Afghan Red Crescent located in West of Afghanistan will be responsible to receive the consignment and transfer it to the flood affected areas, said Noureddin Ahmadi, Head of the branch.

The relief items are at the zero point of the border at the moment and hopefully, it will be transferred in to Afghanistan by Saturday 24 August 2013.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society as a member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies always assist the Natural disasters affected people especially in neighboring country of Afghanistan since 2001.
