Veteran Journalist Joins IRCS

TEHRAN (IRCS) - Hamid Bahmani, an IRIB veteran cameraman, who lost his eyes during the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 joined the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) today as a volunteer at the IRCS’ Peace Building.

Mr Bahmani also met with Dr. Yaghoub Soleimani, IRCS Secretary General, praising the Red Crescent's efforts to provide relief to citizens.

Furthermore, Dr. Yaghoub Soleimani described Hamid Bahmani's media efforts as unparalleled in recent years and highlighted his role in reporting war news.

Mr Bahmani played an important role in the media coverage and news releases during the Iran-Iraq war and with his courageous presence on the battlefield, he performed his media duties in the best possible way,” said IRCS Secretary General.

In 2003, Hamid Bahmani's eyes and lungs were chemically injured during a US-led invasion of Iraq while he was reporting for IRIB.
