Following the occurrence of the earthquake in East Azerbaijan province located in western part of the country in August 2012, a delegation from Taiwanese Red Cross, including Mr. Chen Chan, Director of Disaster Relief Department, and Hsien-Chin, Desk Officer of Disaster Relief paid a visit to the headquarter of Iranian Red Crescent Society in Tehran and a field visit to Tabriz and East Azerbaijan Province. The mission of this delegation is to get familiar with the capacities of the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization as well as the response provide to the earthquake affected regions of East Azerbaijan. In a meeting with Dr. Noori, the Director General of the IRCS Provincial branch on 19/8/2013, Mr. Chen Chan showed his willingness to receive the Iranian Red Crescent experiences and knowledge to respond to the disasters.
