Pakistan Red Crescent Offers Condolences for Miyaneh Earthquake

TEHRAN, 24 November 2019 (IRCS) – Following an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale, which hit Miyaneh County in Iran’s northwestern province of East Azerbaijan on 8 November 2019, Khalid Bin Majeed, Secretary General of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has sent a condolence letter to his Iranian counterpart Dr, Mahmoud Reza Peyravi.

“On behalf of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, we express our heartfelt sympathy to you, your government, family members of the victims who mourn and grieve over the loss of lives and damage to their properties,” Mr Majeed wrote.

“I am certain that under your leadership Iranian Red Crescent Society must be doing, what is humanly possible, to alleviate their sufferings. The Pakistan Red Crescent Society conveys her deep commiseration and sympathy to the people of Iran through the Iranian Red Crescent Society,” the letter added.

Secretary General of the Pakistan Red Crescent also added that the PRCS was committed to join hands with the people of Iran in their efforts to reduce and alleviate the sufferings of the affected victims in hour of trial and tribulations.

Miyaneh earthquake left five killed and 584 injured people.
