Red Crescent President Rings Bell of peace and friendship in New School Year

On Monday, 23 September, the first day of autumn in Iran, which is the beginning of the Iranian new school year, IRCS president attended Esmat Girls’ School in Tehran, ringing the bell for peace and friendship.

Referring to the passing of the new Crisis Management Act in Iran, Mr. Peyvandi said: “After passing the law, we are trying to embed relief training in school lessons. Since it is a time-consuming subject, I suggest students take the lead in learning. This training will save many people in disasters, so it is necessary.”

IRCS Youth Organisation with clubs in 8,000 Iranian schools has managed to train two million students so far.

The “One=Other” Campaign

The IRCS president also said that the Red Crescent had launched a campaign named One=Other.

“The great poet of our country, Saadi, has couplets with humanitarian implications, saying: “Human beings are members of a whole, In the creation of one essence and soul, If one member is afflicted with pain, Other members uneasy will remain”. I ask you to participate in this campaign and describe the themes in these couplets via writing, painting, etc.”

IRCS will award the top works and publish them in a book volume.
