Red Crescent Responds to Flooding in South Khorasan

BIRJAND, 22 May 2019 (IRCS) – Heavy rains, which caused flooding in several counties of South Khorasan, have claimed one death. Red Crescent teams are rendering relief services to the flood-affected people.

Red Crescent Responds to Flooding in South Khorasan

The South Khorasan provincial Red Crescent branch dispatched 13 operational teams to the flood-affected counties.

Mohammad Rahim Shahryari, Managing Director of the South Khorasan provincial Red Crescent branch said:

“Four people missed in the flood of the Shirag Village, Sarbisheh County, were found by the relief workers, but one woman lost her life.”

Three people have been missed in Darmian County and relief workers are trying to find them.”

Flood affected the counties of Tabas, Darmian, Sarayan, Sarbisheh and Birjand on Wednesday.

Relief workers pumped out water from 38 houses which were inundated.
