South Korea Offers Cash Contribution to Iranian Flood-Affected People

Ryu, Jeong-Hyun the South Korean ambassador to Iran, met with the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Secretary General Mahmoud Reza Peyravi at IRCS’s headquarters in Tehran on 14 April, expressing sympathy with the affected people and families who lost their members in the recent flooding in Iran. He also appreciated relief efforts of the Iranian Red Crescent serving the affected people.

During the meeting, IRCS Secretary General thanked the South Korean government support to Iran’s flood-affected people, referring the damage caused by the flood to the provinces of Golestan, Fars, Lorestan and Khuzestan.

According to the South Korean ambassador to Iran, Republic of Korea had offered 200,000 US dollars to the IFRC to support Iranian Red Crescent relief operations in the flood-affected areas.

Nationwide floods in Iran have displaced tens of thousands of people, leaving 76 dead.
