Adel Shafiei, Acting Head of Operations in Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organisation, pointed out to the flood response operation of the Iranian Red Crescent within the last 24 hours and said that two counties of Shabestar and Charavimagh have been affected by flood in Azerbaijane-Sharghi province, north western part of Iran.

Shafiei stressed on providing continuous relief and rescue services to five villages in these counties and mentioned that 545 persons received services from the Iranian Red Crescent teams. He also added that floodwaters were pumped out from 107 houses by 18 water pumps. 12 relief and rescue teams including 57 relief workers and rescuers are currently engaged in Red Crescent response operation on the scene and operation is still going on.
