On the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, May 8, the Iranian Red Crescent Society is launching relief and health projects all over the country.
“The Red Crescent is going to appreciate the relief workers, volunteers and young members,” said Dr Pir Hossein Kolivand, the IRCS President, in a press conference held on 6 May.
“700,000 new volunteers have joined the Iranian Red Crescent in the last year, Mr Kolivand added.
According to the chair of the IRCS, the Iranian Red Crescent has signed 20 memoranda of understanding with different countries over the past year.
In addition, On Saturday, 6 May, a Photo gallery titled “Red Crescent, Sign of Hope” was opened by the Red Crescent in Tehran Metro, Valiasr Station, to show relief efforts of the Society in disasters.
