During the meeting, the IRCS secretary general emphasized that the sanctions against Iran has impacted humanitarian measurements and called for the involvement of the IFRC for reducing the effectiveness of these sanctions.

Mr. Soleimani stated that the Iranian Red Crescent is prepared to share its experiences in relief fields with the International Federation and other Societies.

For his part, Mr. Elsharkawi characterized the Iranian Red Crescent as a successful model for National Societies.

“During my travels to Iran over the past two years, I have observed the Iranian Red Crescent's large operational capacity and volunteers,” he said.
