In a message to Mr Kaddour Kharbouch, Vice- President of Moroccan Red Crescent Society, Dr Pirhossein Kolivand, the President of the Iranian Red Crescent, stated that the Society is ready to send medical and relief teams to Morocco to support the quake-affected people in the country.
The Iranian Red Crescent had previously stated its readiness to assist the people affected by the earthquake in Morocco.
President Raisi emphasized the Islamic and humanitarian obligation of aiding the people of Morocco during the cabinet meeting that took place on Sunday, September 10th. Furthermore, he proposed that the Red Crescent take on the responsibility for this task.
A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Morocco late Friday, 8 September, killing thousands of people.
