At 20:10, the collapse of a three-story building in Vahidiyeh in Robat Karim County in southwest of Tehran was informed to the Red Crescent.
The collapse was due to a gas leak and explosion of a water heater which caused debris.
Five relief teams and two teams of sniffer dogs from the Robat Karim Red Crescent County branch were dispatched to the scene immediately and started the search operation.
In the first moments of the operation, three people were pulled out by the aid workers, and after hours, six more people came out from under the rubble. Moreover, nine dead people were pulled out, according to Shahin Fathi, Head of the Tehran Red Crescent provincial branch.
The operation took 11 hours and, in addition to the Red Crescent, the other relief organizations such as firefighting participated in it.
