In a letter to the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Pir Hossein Kolivand declared the Society’s readiness for sending relief items to the civilians in the war-torn country of Ukraine.
The letter reads as follows:
“Please be informed that following the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine which has caused serious hazards for Ukrainian civilians, killing the innocent people, the Iranian Red Crescent as Secretariat of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law and a humanitarian organization in the country, in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross, declares its readiness to deploy rapid response teams specialized in rescue, health and medical care, with relief and medical equipment, to Ukraine, in line with humanitarian objectives and assistance to victims of the armed conflict.
In this regard, please instruct that while reviewing the issue, if security and political conditions are ensured, the necessary measures should be taken to send Red Crescent teams to Ukraine.”
