Following the collapse of the Metropole building in the city of Abadan, which has left at least 14 deaths and 29 wounded so far, the President of the Turkish Red Crescent on his Twitter account wrote: “I would like to express my condolence for the tragic incident that took place in Abadan, Iran. SAR teams are working around the clock to recover people from the debris. We stand with the Iranian people and the Iranian RCS.”

The IRCS is carrying out the search and rescue operation with more than 2,000 aid workers and rescuers on the scene.
